Setting Up the Salesforce Integration in Bloks

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Bloks integrates directly with Salesforce, allowing you to push meeting notes and structured data into your CRM for seamless relationship management. This article walks you through how to set up the integration and where to use it within Bloks.

Integration Summary

The Bloks ↔ Salesforce integration supports two main workflows:

  • Pushing meeting summaries to people or company records.

  • Updating structured data fields (generated by the Bloks knowledge base) for company and people records in Salesforce.

This ensures your CRM stays updated with both qualitative insights and structured client information β€” all generated for you from within your Bloks workspace.

Enabling the Salesforce integration

  1. Open Settings

    • Locate your avatar (or initials) in the lower-left corner of the Bloks app.

    • Select it to enter the Settings menu.

  2. Navigate to Integrations

    • Within the Settings panel, click on the Integrations menu item.

    • Locate Salesforce in the list.

    • Select Add Salesforce.

  3. Authenticate Your Account

    • Your default browser will open and a prompt will appear asking you to sign in with your Salesforce credentials (if you're not already signed in).

    • Once authenticated, Bloks will be connected and ready to push data.

    • Return to the Bloks app when prompted.

Pushing Meeting Summaries to Salesforce

Now that you have integrated, you can easily push meeting summaries directly from Bloks to Salesforce.

  1. Access a Meeting Summary

    • Navigate to any past meeting in the Bloks Calendar View that has a meeting summary.

    • Select the meeting to open the Summary.

  2. Open the Sharing Panel

    • On the right-hand side, expand the sharing panel.

    • Select the Export to Salesforce option.

  3. Match to a Person or Company

    • If Bloks detects a match, it will be displayed automatically.

    • Otherwise, you can manually search for a person or company.

    • Select Export Note to push to the selected record.

    • If the contact does not exist, Bloks will create the record in Salesforce and add the note.

  4. Push to Salesforce Confirmation

    • Once pushed to Salesforce, an icon will appear on the calendar entry (or ad hoc note) in Bloks, indicating successful push.

Updating Structured Data in Salesforce

The integration also allows structured data automatically gathered in Bloks templates to be pushed into Salesforce.

  1. Access Template Management (for an individual account)

    • Go to Settings and navigate to Company Types.

    • On the right, choose an existing template or create a new one.

  2. Access Template Management (for a team account)

    • Go to Settings > Teams and navigate to Company Types.

    • On the right, choose an existing template or create a new one.

  3. Map Data Points

    • Choose Import from Salesforce to view a list of available fields.

    • Select the Salesforce fields you want to map to Bloks data points.

  4. Mapping Long-Form Fields

    • Below the data point mapping, you can also map longer-form text fields such as "Customer Overview" or other contextual insights.

  5. Push to Salesforce

    • From any Company Page in Bloks (via a calendar brief or search), click the Salesforce icon (highlighted below) to initiate a data update.

    • A preview will appear showing fields that are ready to be updated.

    • Select Push to Salesforce to finalize the update.

Conclusion

By connecting Bloks with Salesforce, you streamline your workflow, eliminate manual data entry, and ensure your CRM reflects the most current and meaningful information from your client interactions. Whether you're capturing meeting insights or maintaining structured records, this integration keeps your relationship data organized, actionable, and always up to date.
