Bloks is designed with compliance and transparency at its core. Because recording calls and meetings can involve sensitive information, Bloks gives every team control over how recording and consent are managed.
This article explains the different recording consent preferences available in Bloks, and how to configure them.
Why Consent Matters
Regulatory compliance: Many industries (e.g., financial services, insurance, healthcare) require explicit consent before recording conversations.
Trust and transparency: Recording with clear consent builds confidence with clients and colleagues.
Data protection: By setting consent preferences upfront, firms can ensure Bloks is aligned with internal policies and external legal obligations.
Consent Options in Bloks
Bloks supports three main consent modes. You or your team administrator can choose the best option for your firm:
1. Botless Capture (Default)
Bloks records only the user’s own notes and highlights.
No recording notification bot joins the call, and no email notifications sent.
Ideal for teams that prefer manual control or want to avoid visible meeting bots.
2. Compliance Bot
A Bloks compliance bot joins the meeting - if allowed to join capture begins.
Participants are notified that the call is be recorded.
Works well in regulated environments where explicit acknowledgment is required.
3. Email Notifications
Bloks can send email notifications to participants in advance. This feature ensures transparency and allows attendees to review consent before the meeting begins.
Options Available:
Notify External Participants Only
Choose whether notifications are sent only to external guests (outside your organization).Advance Notice
Set how far in advance the email is delivered (e.g., 30 minutes before the meeting).Customizable Consent Text
