Using Highlights in Bloks

Highlights are a powerful way to capture and emphasize key moments during your conversations

Updated over a month ago

Highlights are a powerful way to capture and emphasize key moments during your conversations. Whether you're in a virtual meeting or recording a call, Highlights help you bookmark and preserve the most important points with added context.

What Are Highlights?

When the minibar is active and Bloks is capturing your conversation, you’ll have the option to create a Highlight. A Highlight does two things simultaneously:

1. Captures a Screenshot

A visual snapshot of whatever is on your screen at that exact moment—like a slide, chart, or shared document—is saved.

2. Emphasizes the Audio Context

Bloks marks the surrounding audio and transcript as a key moment. This ensures that both what was seen and what was said are brought forward prominently in your meeting summary.

Together, these two elements create a contextual, visual bookmark of the conversation—making your summaries more useful and personal.

Why Use Highlights?

  • Mark important visual content (slides, dashboards, charts)

  • Draw attention to critical discussion points

  • Make your summaries more focused and actionable

  • Reduce the need to rewatch entire meetings

How to Create a Highlight

You can take a highlight in two simple ways:

From the Minibar

  • While Bloks is running, look for the Highlight icon in the minibar.

  • Click the icon, and a screenshot will be taken.

  • Bloks will capture the current audio segment and attach both to your summary.

From the Manual Notes Window

  • At the bottom, next to the timer and stop button, you’ll see a Highlight button.

  • Click it any time to capture a screenshot and audio snapshot instantly.

✅ Tip

You can take multiple Highlights during a single call. Use them to create a clear, visual map of the most important parts of any meeting—no need to take lengthy notes.
